Game Show Photo Essay #1: Do You Think Daryl is Having Fun?

JUST when I think I've seen more than my fair share of excited game show contestants, I then find somebody like Daryl.

I discovered her via my DVR while catching up with some reruns of Card Sharks on GSN (Game Show Network). They started showing episodes hosted by Bob Eubanks a couple of months ago in the morning at 11am, so I started recording them to watch later in the evening if there wasn't anything good on TV, or if I didn't feel like watching DVDs. Sometime in the latter part of February, she arrived on CS, a very enthusiastic (and very pregnant) lady who managed to stay a champion for a few days and won a lot of money along the way. (I forget exactly how much, but I know it was over $10,000.)

I happened upon her very expressive face by accident one night when I paused the show to get a drink. Just how much Daryl got into the game was so tangible through one single freeze frame, I was intrigued to watch her some more and see how far she could take those facial (and neck) muscles. As I did, I took the time to get the following screen captures, and I'm glad I did because I discovered today I unintentionally deleted the CS episode! So until that show cycles around again on GSN, I have these precious photos, which I now share with you. Enjoy!

As for Daryl, wherever she is, I hope she's doing well, and if she happens to see this, I'd like to say "thanks" for putting a smile on my face and the faces of game show lovers everywhere.

Keeping it trivial....

    1. Definitely!

She also has sort of a mullet going on, but hers looks modest, compared to what I've seen other women (and men) sport. If she was trying for the "Christine Sullivan"/Markie Post look, she came up short. :D

Watch for another Game Show Photo Essay in the not-too-distant future!
